Day 1-2 Travel and Exploring Austria

And we are off!! We took off around 10 am to head to Chicago for our flights. We had three groups flying three different airlines. We took different buses depending on where we all where flying.

My group was flying British Airways (the same company I flew to Ireland with). On the way up, as it seems is tradition, I played Euchre in what could possibly be one of the most uncomfortable positions possible but o well. It passed the time!

We arrived pretty early. Especially for a 5:15 flight. We made it through security then Lars, B Cruz, Myself, and Jenny Jones (PMO Donor) got dinner and a drink (We had half acre daisy cutters, a local Chicago beer it was fantastic). Out of the kindness of her heart, she paid for our lunches!!

We took off on our flight which was a 777 and exactly like the one I took to Ireland.

For dinner I had the choice of Tex-Mex and Beef or Beef and Tex-Mex. Thats what I get for sitting in the back of the plane. O well, I had red and white wine coupled with it all! Watched Django Unchained (more gory than I thought it would be) and Les Mis (sub par vocals). Muffin for breakfast and off to Heathrow! I landed in Heathrow and felt like I was getting ready to return to Ireland. I was up for it! Thats for sure. Had to help drink some wine in security because one of the days forgot he couldn't take it. What a way to start a morning! We had lunch and then sampled multiple types of scotch in duty free. I may be a college graduate but im always about free things!

After passing out on a quick flight, we landed in Austria!! We passed through customs no problem and then off to the Central Cemetery, known for the extravagant tombs, impressive eternal members, and shear size. (Its the second largest in Europe, possibly the world). They hold between 20-25 Funerals a day!

Photo: The graves of Beethoven, Mozart, and Shubert respectively!

Afterwords, we visited the Hundertwasserhaus. It's known for the artistry of Hundertwasser who refuses to draw in straight lines and uses outrageous color schemes!

For dinner, we visited the Rathausplatz. More specifically, the Rathaunskeller. It was fantastic! Had a few drinks at the hotel I have more pics to add and will try to do so sometime tmrw. Until then, Hope you all enjoy the update!
